Timberyard, the award-winning independent group of speciality coffee shops launched a new version of private workspace in May 2016 specifically designed for early stage businesses in the creative sector. Creative Companies represents the first major redesign of the hybrid Timberyard ‘coffee and workspace’ model since its creation in 2012. For the duration of its first year the Creative Companies workspace has operated at 100% occupancy, however two of the founding creative companies are growing rapidly and therefore making the move to larger spaces elsewhere.
The private workspace continues the now familiar Timberyard environment of marrying a fully serviced, inspired, open plan workspace with exceptional tea and coffee, nutritious food and hospitality. Unlike the existing TY shop locations, which have been successfully offering accessible public workspace to nomadic individuals; start-ups, freelancers and coffee lovers, for over 3 years already, this newer model is specifically targeted at early stage creative businesses with teams of 4 and above who need dedicated desk space.
Each company signs a license that has a 3 month notice period associated with it that entitles its 4+ employees to become members and makes the company responsible for paying desk fees monthly in advance. There is no tenancy associated with the license but each company can use the TY Soho address for correspondence.
